Digital Verification Engineer - MCU
Role Summary
Work on digital verification for microcontroller (MCU) IP and subsystems within a hardware engineering team. The role focuses on developing and executing verification plans, creating verification environments, and identifying functional issues before silicon.
Collaborate with RTL designers, SoC integration teams, and validation groups to ensure correctness, coverage, and quality of digital designs.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically 3–7 years of relevant verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities and delivering clear verification results.
- Develop and implement verification plans for MCU digital blocks and subsystems.
- Create and maintain UVM/SystemVerilog verification environments, testbenches, and scoreboards.
- Write directed and random tests to exercise RTL; manage simulation regressions and debug failures.
- Collect and analyze functional coverage and code coverage metrics; drive closure activities.
- Collaborate with RTL designers to debug functional issues and propose fixes.
- Automate verification tasks and regression flows using scripting and CI tools.
- Document verification results, test plans, and issue reports for cross-team visibility.

- Must-have: Experience in digital verification, familiarity with RTL and verification flows.
- Must-have: Practical knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
- Must-have: Experience with simulation and debug tools, functional and code coverage analysis.
- Must-have: Scripting ability for automation (Python, TCL or similar).
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience with MCU or SoC verification, assertions (SVA), and hardware/software integration testing.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with version control, CI systems, and verification IP.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional engineering team.
