Digital Verification Engineer I

Role Summary

The Digital Verification Engineer I will join the Modem Verification (IP Verification) team to verify ASIC IP used in wireless modem SoCs for IoT applications. The role focuses on creating and executing verification environments and testbenches to ensure robust, low-power modem performance.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Engineer I). This is an early-career engineering role; no specific years-of-experience requirement is stated.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Verify ASIC IP blocks used in wireless modem designs and execute verification plans.
  • Develop and maintain verification environments, testbenches, and simulations using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Support automated testing and verification flows using C and scripting languages.
  • Analyze simulation results, identify root causes, and debug design or verification issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in test development, coverage analysis, and regression execution.
  • Document verification results and communicate technical findings; propose improvements to methodologies.
  • Collaborate with design, architecture, and software teams to ensure high-quality IP delivery.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience expected (must-have vs. nice-to-have):

Must-have:

  • Experience using Verilog and SystemVerilog for digital design and verification (professional experience, internships, coursework, research, or project work).
  • Programming and scripting experience in C and scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Understanding of digital design fundamentals, computer architecture, VLSI concepts, or embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation, debugging, or FPGA prototyping through academic or internship projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of UVM (Universal Verification Methodology).
  • Exposure to ASIC or IP verification methodologies and tools.
  • Experience debugging complex digital systems and analyzing simulation failures.
  • Familiarity with digital communication systems or wireless modem architectures.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
