Digital Validation Intern — Summer 2027

Role Summary

Support digital validation activities for product teams at NXP's Austin Oakhill office. Collaborate with design, systems, and software engineers to execute tests, debug issues, and document results to improve product quality.

This is a summer internship focused on hands-on validation, test execution, and technical learning under team guidance.

Experience Level

Internship (student-level). Intended for current undergraduate or graduate students returning to school after the internship.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

• Prepare validation setups, execute tests, collect data, and summarize results.
• Assist with debugging issues and improving test coverage under team guidance.
• Collaborate with design, systems, and software teams to understand expected behavior and support issue resolution.
• Maintain validation plans, reports, and technical records for project visibility.
• Contribute to product quality and disciplined test execution while learning technical skills.

Requirements

Must-have skills and capabilities:

• Hands-on experience from lab work, design projects, internships, coursework, or student competitions (practical experience preferred).
• Familiarity with engineering, design, verification, programming, or lab tools and a willingness to learn quickly.
• Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, problem solving, testing, and technical documentation.
• Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas clearly.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Nice-to-have:

• Prior internship or project experience in digital validation or verification tools.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline. Applicants must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term; if you are graduating prior to July 2027, this role is not appropriate—apply to entry-level full-time roles instead.
