Role Summary

Join Product and Test Engineering to develop and deliver test solutions for New Product Introduction (silicon validation and characterization) and manufacturing enablement of Qualcomm SoC products. The role focuses on ATE test development, silicon bring-up, diagnostics, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with design, packaging, and manufacturing teams.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include developing and executing test strategies for digital ASIC/SoC products and enabling high-volume manufacturing.

• Create and maintain ATE test programs and bench tests for silicon validation, characterization, and production.
• Develop test automation, data analysis, and diagnostic flows using scripting and software tools.
• Work with bench and system-level test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum/logic/network analyzers) to validate signals and performance.
• Characterize signal integrity and transmission-line behavior on silicon and package-level interfaces.
• Collaborate with design, DFT/DFM, packaging, and manufacturing teams to improve yield and test coverage.
• Support test time optimization, root-cause failure analysis, and production diagnostics.
• Prototype and validate optical/photonic or RF subsystems when relevant to the product.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

• Must-have: Proficiency with Python, Java, and Linux-based development and automation.
• Must-have: Experience using common test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers.
• Must-have: Knowledge of signal integrity and transmission line theory; practical experience applying those concepts in silicon validation.
• Must-have: Prior hardware engineering or test engineering experience (posting indicates ~3+ years).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with ATE platforms such as Advantest 93K or Teradyne UFlex/IFlex.
• Nice-to-have: FPGA programming and embedded software experience for subsystem prototyping.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with active/passive photonic devices and optical communication metrics (OSNR, receiver sensitivity, OMI, optical filtering).
• Nice-to-have: Experience supporting high-volume semiconductor production and yield management, plus DFT/DFM exposure.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Optics/Photonics or a related field is listed. Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Optics) are preferred.
