Digital Systems Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Internship on the Silicon Control / Digital Systems Engineering team working on control, integration, and verification of Qorvo modules. Projects focus on developing control block diagrams, control logic, timing, test optimization, and automation tools to support high-volume communications products.

Experience Level

Intern - entry-level college internship for current undergraduate or graduate students.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for the internship assignment include:

• Break down complex module-level requirements into blocks and sub-blocks for implementation and verification.
• Develop control block diagrams, timing diagrams, control logic, and mode tables.
• Implement and improve scripts, automation, and simulation tools to support design and test teams.
• Support test engineering by identifying critical tests and optimizing test coverage within limited test time.
• Collaborate with RF, analog, digital, verification, software, applications, and program teams to ensure integration.
• Perform analysis and verification tasks using simulation and scripting tools.
• Prepare and present results to mentors and business or technical leads.
• Work on projects assigned by the business group (High Performance Analog, Advanced Cellular, or Connectivity and Sensors).

Requirements

Key skills and conditions required for candidates.

• Experience with scripting or programming (Python or similar) and practical software skills.
• Familiarity with engineering tools such as Matlab and Cadence IC/RF tools or Keysight ADS.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex operations and macros.
• Experience or coursework-level familiarity with C++ or C# is preferred.
• Ability to develop or use automation and simulation tools for design and test tasks.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to present technical results.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.

Education Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program (Electrical, Computer, Systems Engineering, or equivalent major). Master’s or PhD candidates are preferred. Candidates should have completed coursework across multiple relevant areas - e.g., analog circuit design, RF design, DC-to-DC converter design, digital design (synchronous/asynchronous), and software design - or have equivalent practical experience.
