Digital SoC Product Development and Test Engineer, Senior/Staff (Test Program Owner)
Role Summary
Responsible for characterization and development of manufacturing test solutions for advanced Qualcomm SoC products using ATE platforms. The role spans test plan creation, ATE program development, first‑silicon debug, yield and failure analysis, and test-time reduction.
Works cross-functionally with IC design, system engineering, DFT/DV, hardware applications, and manufacturing teams in time-sensitive development and ramp environments.
Experience Level
Senior level. Preferred: 8+ years in test or related engineering and at least 1 year in a technical leadership role; minimum practical hardware engineering experience expectations vary by degree (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop characterization and manufacturing test plans for SoC products.
- Specify test hardware requirements and develop ATE tests/routines/programs to execute plans.
- Drive first-silicon bring-up and debug for designs from external foundries.
- Analyze parametric performance and perform failure analysis to closure.
- Analyze high-volume manufacturing yields and implement test-time and yield improvements.
- Innovate new test solutions and optimize test flow from NPI to volume ramp.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams and document technical work.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong, hands-on ATE experience; Advantest 93K knowledge preferred.
- Experience developing ATE SoC programs from NPI to volume and driving yield/test-time reduction.
- Knowledge of structural testing (scan, memory BIST) and functional test methodologies.
- Familiarity with chiplet or multi-die products and die-to-die interface test/yield issues is a plus.
- Experience with statistical analysis, quality, and reliability testing methods.
- Experience using collaboration/configuration tools such as Git, SVN and JIRA.
- Strong programming skills for test code (examples: Java, C/C++, Visual Basic, Perl, Python).
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to document work and influence technical decisions.
- Technical leadership experience (preferred ≥1 year).
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master’s or PhD in the same fields. Posted minimums tie degree level to experience: Bachelor's + ~4+ years hardware-engineering experience; Master's + ~3+ years; PhD + ~2+ years. Equivalent practical experience may be accepted where stated.
