Role Summary
Senior hardware engineer responsible for planning, designing, verifying and testing electronic hardware and product bring-up to support production and customer requirements. Works on digital/analog/RF/optical circuits, test systems, FPGA/DSP platforms, and manufacturing bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior level. Preferred candidates have multi-year experience in hardware engineering (typically 3+ years preferred; minimum experience varies by degree).
Responsibilities
The role focuses on implementing and validating hardware designs, improving yield and test flows, and delivering production-ready products.
- Plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems and support product bring-up.
- Integrate features and functionality into hardware designs in line with roadmaps.
- Perform simulations and analyses; implement designs optimized for power, performance, and area.
- Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, systems, and architecture teams to meet requirements.
- Develop and evaluate manufacturing and test solutions to improve yield, test time, and quality.
- Characterize reliability of materials and processes; introduce automation and optimization to increase productivity.
- Assess complex design features for flaws, compatibility, and compliance issues.
- Produce detailed technical documentation for hardware projects.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
- Experience with circuit design (digital, analog, and/or RF) and implementation.
- Experience using schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience with hardware measurement and test instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, ATE).
- Experience with FPGA, DSP, or related test systems and product validation.
- Ability to evaluate and develop manufacturing and bring-up solutions for leading-edge products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to deliver technical documentation.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and to make decisions that affect broader teams.
Nice to have:
- Experience improving yield, test time, and production quality.
- Familiarity with automation and productivity optimizations for hardware test and manufacturing.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering or related field (with 2+ years hardware engineering experience), OR Master’s degree in those fields (with 1+ year experience), OR PhD in those fields. Master's degree is listed as preferred. Fields: Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
