Digital IC Design Intern, BS - Summer 2027
Role Summary
Internship on Marvell's Digital IC Design teams working on digital logic, RTL design, and implementation for SoC and high-speed connectivity products. The intern will collaborate with architecture, verification, and physical design teams to deliver functional RTL blocks and participate in the ASIC design flow.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for current undergraduate students. Targeted at students completing a Bachelor's degree with expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
Responsibilities
The intern will contribute to real chip design tasks and support signoff and verification activities.
- Develop and verify RTL blocks for digital designs.
- Perform synthesis, static timing analysis, timing signoff, and power analysis.
- Debug design issues and validate functional correctness.
- Investigate and apply new design techniques and flows.
- Collaborate with architecture, design verification, and physical design teams to resolve integration issues.
Requirements
Must-have skills and tools expected for the role.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
- Hands-on RTL design experience and understanding of how RTL fits into the ASIC design flow.
- Familiarity with EDA tools (examples: Synopsys Primetime, Cadence tools, Mentor) - practical experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028. Relevant coursework includes circuit design, digital logic design, static timing analysis, computer architecture, Verilog, VLSI, DSP, SoC/ASIC design, or electronics. The posting also notes intern PhD candidates may receive additional compensation.
