Digital IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

The engineer will deliver RTL/frontend deliverables for digital ASIC projects, driving Verilog/VHDL implementation, synthesis, timing closure and DFT. The role works closely with physical design, system/software, FPGA verification and test teams across the full IC development cycle.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires at least 5 years of relevant digital IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Key day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement Verilog/VHDL RTL from product specifications.
• Perform logic synthesis and static timing analysis (STA) and drive timing closure with physical design teams.
• Collaborate with system and software teams on FPGA-based verification and validation.
• Lead Design-for-Test (DFT) activities, including scan insertion, ATPG and pattern validation.
• Support production and test teams to debug and resolve manufacturing/test issues.
• Investigate and fix functional issues in post-silicon (tape-out) devices.
• Participate in design reviews, produce documentation, and follow quality/ISO processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant digital IC design experience.
• Proven experience across the full IC design cycle (RTL to tape-out).
• Hands-on experience with Verilog HDL and/or VHDL.
• Experience with logic synthesis, static timing analysis and timing closure.
• Experience with DFT methodologies (scan insertion, ATPG) and pattern validation.
• Familiarity with EDA tool flows such as Cadence or Synopsys.
• Experience debugging post-silicon and production test issues and working with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in digital or mixed-signal IC design.
• Familiarity with connectivity protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C).
• Experience with interface-based product development.

Education Requirements

Degree-level education required: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline (as stated in the posting).
