Job Title

Digital IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join a product development team designing highly integrated mixed-signal audio devices. The role focuses on digital logic and RTL for audio signal chains, clocking, memory management, interfaces, and integration with analog and firmware domains.

Work includes architecture, RTL design, synthesis constraints, timing closure, and collaboration with verification, physical design, and silicon validation teams.

Experience Level

Senior - approximately 8 years of digital design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include implementation, verification support, and cross-domain integration for digital subsystems in mixed-signal audio products.

  • Design and develop digital logic: signal chain, clocking, interrupt/fault handlers, and memory management.
  • Create and document architecture and implementation; lead design and architecture reviews.
  • Develop constraints and perform synthesis; support timing closure with physical design team.
  • Perform lint, CDC, RDC checks and resolve design quality issues.
  • Support verification, silicon validation, and debug efforts; provide testplan support and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with analog, firmware, test, and application teams to close spec gaps and support customer debugging.
  • Drive improvements in design methodologies and EDA tool/flow adoption.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

Must-have:

  • Strong digital design fundamentals and RTL microarchitecture experience.
  • Hands-on RTL coding experience in Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with lint, CDC, RDC, constraint development, synthesis, and digital timing analysis.
  • Experience using simulation tools (preferably Cadence).
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills; strong communication and teamwork.

Nice-to-have:

  • Basic scripting skills (shell, Python, or Perl).
  • Knowledge of audio signal chain, I2C, ASI/TDM, memory architectures, FPGA, or physical design concepts.
  • Experience with silicon debug and validation.
