Digital Engineer
Role Summary
Hybrid entry-level engineering role on Renesas' Power Design / BMS digital team based in Morrisville, NC. The role focuses on digital module design, system-level simulation and verification, synthesis and place-and-route constraint definition, scan insertion and test pattern generation, and product validation for power management and battery management ICs.
Experience Level
Entry-level — open to candidates with a Bachelor's degree and up to 2 years' experience, or recent Master's graduates with no prior experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities covering design, verification, and product release activities.
- Design and simulate digital modules using Verilog.
- Perform system-level simulation and develop verification plans.
- Create synthesis and P&R constraints, including clock-tree specifications.
- Implement scan insertion and generate test patterns.
- Collaborate with Test, Product, and Applications Engineering to develop validation plans and complete product release.
- Support marketing and customer-facing technical questions as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes.
- Experience with Verilog coding, register-file design, serial interfaces, and state machines.
- Knowledge of clock-domain crossing, scan and self-test methodologies.
- Experience with synthesis, linting, and static timing analysis (STA).
- Verification experience, including SystemVerilog and automation scripting.
- Familiarity with Cadence design tools.
- Strong written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
Nice-to-have: Verilog-AMS for functional verification.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BS) with up to 2 years' experience required, or a recent Master's (MS) graduate with no prior experience. The posting did not specify particular fields of study or certifications.
