Digital Design Manager
Role Summary
This role involves managing the end-to-end delivery of the first T28 industrial ASIC for the ASM Industrial business, combining full chip ownership with RTL team leadership to ensure high-quality silicon and scalable architecture.
Experience Level
Senior level, with a minimum of 12 years of experience in complex SoC/ASIC development.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Own SoC execution from specification through architecture to silicon and mass production.
- Act as the single technical owner for the first T28 industrial ASIC.
- Drive PPA, quality, cost, and schedule trade-offs.
- Lead execution across RTL, DV, DFT, PD, and validation.
- Interface with various teams including Architecture, IP, FW/SW, Product, Business, and PE teams.
- Ensure pre-silicon sign-off and oversee post-silicon bring-up and validation.
- Lead and mentor the RTL design team to promote high-quality micro-architecture coding and integration.
- Balance hands-on technical leadership with people management.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications include:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in complex SoC/ASIC development.
- Proven leadership in multiple SoC domains.
- Strong expertise with ARM-based systems, interconnects, low-power design, and clock/reset/power architecture.
- End-to-end SoC lifecycle experience including RTL through timing closure.
- Excellent communication and cross-team leadership skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in Chip Lead or SoC Lead roles.
- Exposure to first-silicon or new-node (T28) programs.
- Experience with industrial SoC projects.
- Post-silicon bring-up and yield learning experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
