Digital Design Engineer, SoC Chassis
Role Summary
Design digital micro-architecture and RTL for SoC subsystems and infrastructure IP to support low-power hardware accelerators, machine learning, and network acceleration. Work with architects, verification, physical design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver production silicon.
This role focuses on micro-architecture, RTL implementation, and performance/power trade-offs for complex IP and subsystem integration.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 6+ years of hardware design experience, including production silicon shipped in volume.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and implement ASIC digital micro-architecture and RTL for IP and subsystems.
- Analyze and optimize design performance and power to meet targets.
- Translate algorithms and architecture requirements into hardware specifications.
- Collaborate with Verification, Physical Design, and Design-for-Test teams during implementation.
- Develop design verification strategies and support RTL signoff for complex IPs.
- Drive IP and subsystem micro-architecture and RTL design in coordination with DV and PD leads.

Key qualifications and skills.
Must-have:
- 6+ years as a hardware design engineer with experience on production silicon shipped in volume.
- Proven experience in digital micro-architecture and RTL coding.
- Experience performing performance and power analysis and implementing trade-offs.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to cross-functional teams (verification, physical design, architecture).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with infrastructure IP areas such as clock generation/distribution and power management.
- Exposure to subsystem-level implementation from specification through RTL signoff.
- Experience with microcontroller clusters.
- Experience integrating AI tools to improve engineering workflows and familiarity with responsible AI practices.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
