Job Title
Digital Design Engineer (AP)
Role Summary
Join a product development team in the High Performance Mixed-Signal R&D division to design and deliver digital IP and mixed-signal SoCs for consumer mobile products. The role focuses on RTL design, block-level verification and collaboration across implementation and verification teams.
This position is based in the Edinburgh office and involves contributing to technical reviews, IP quality, and mentoring junior engineers.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify required years of experience but expects demonstrated experience delivering digital CMOS IP and subsystems.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and team collaboration to deliver complex mixed-signal products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver complex mixed-signal products and IPs.
- Design and develop digital circuit architectures and associated block-level testbenches on advanced process nodes.
- Participate in technical reviews and ensure IP quality using design and verification checklists.
- Support team growth through recruitment, mentoring, design reviews, and supervision of junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities; preferred items noted where applicable.
- Implementation of complex digital circuits and subsystems in RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Block-level verification and testbench development; familiarity with verification flows.
- Understanding of digital system-level design including standard bus protocols, bus architecture, and chip-level clock/reset architectures.
- Knowledge of synthesis and static timing analysis; experience collaborating with DFT and place-and-route teams.
- Familiarity with linting, CDC and RDC analysis tools.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to work under urgency in a dynamic environment.
- Preferred: experience with UVM-based verification environments and targeting industry-standard FPGA platforms.
- Preferred: scripting and automation for design tasks; MATLAB/DSP experience for filter and signal analysis.
- Preferred: lab and silicon validation, chip bring-up and debug; board-level interface design and multiple clock-domain handling.
Education Requirements
