Job Title
Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement high-performance physical-layer ASIC blocks for wired data communications in the Connectivity Group. Work on RTL architecture, micro-architecture, verification and ASIC implementation across global teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level (1–3 years of relevant ASIC, DSP or RTL experience).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop ASIC specifications, architecture and micro-architecture for major functional blocks in complex SoC solutions.
- Implement and simulate RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog; participate in synthesis and implementation for ASIC flow.
- Create and execute verification plans; perform lint, CDC and power analysis and act on findings.
- Analyze and optimize datapath and DSP circuit designs for high-performance and high-volume manufacture.
- Participate in design and verification reviews and collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
-
Must-have: 1–3 years experience developing, implementing, and testing high-performance communications and DSP ASIC products.
-
Must-have: Extensive RTL experience including design, verification, and synthesis (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
-
Must-have: Strong UNIX-based EDA tool skills and in-depth knowledge of ASIC design flows.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with signal processing structures, high-performance datapath DSP circuit design and reusable HDL coding styles for high-volume manufacture.
-
Preferred: Experience mapping communications algorithms to hardware and evaluating system design tradeoffs.
-
Preferred: Experience with bit-exact MATLAB and C/C++ system simulation and evaluation.
-
Preferred: Familiarity with DSP and PHY layer protocols such as IEEE 802.3.
-
Note: This position may require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; candidates may be subject to export license review prior to employment.
