Digital ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer II
Role Summary
Support development of ASIC and FPGA designs for defense systems at the McKinney, TX site. Work includes translating system requirements into hardware RTL, implementing architectures, verifying designs by simulation and laboratory testing, and collaborating with systems, software, and mechanical teams.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and testing of digital hardware.
- Develop and execute verification plans.
- Build and maintain UVM testbenches and verification components.
- Debug simulation failures and analyze waveforms and logs.
- Create and run test cases and support functional coverage.
- Support architecture implementation, RTL design, and integration testing in the lab.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and mechanical engineers; participate in engineering reviews and documentation.
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing and occasional business travel.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, security, and tooling experience.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance; an active existing Secret clearance is required from day 1.
- Experience with FPGAs (Xilinx/Altera), RTL design in Verilog or VHDL, and simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of digital design concepts: state machines, pipelining, clocking, and resets.
- Debugging experience using waveforms and logs.
- Experience scripting with Python, Perl, or shell.
- Effective communication and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Digital ASIC design and design-flow experience.
- Experience with UVM, constrained-random verification, and testbench generation.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline required by start date.
