Diffusion Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
The Diffusion Equipment Engineer is responsible for installation, qualification, maintenance, and optimization of diffusion (DIFI) equipment in a high-volume semiconductor fab. The role focuses on equipment performance, safety, quality, and supporting production yield.
Work closely with process engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and execute projects that close hardware gaps.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting specifies a minimum of 2+ years industry experience as an Equipment Owner for diffusion; the body also refers to the position as a Senior role.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include equipment installation, qualification, performance monitoring, and collaboration to resolve production-impacting issues.
- Install and qualify diffusion equipment in new cleanroom environments.
- Monitor equipment performance: data analysis, preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Collaborate with process engineers to identify and resolve equipment-related production issues.
- Manage projects to address hardware gaps and implement long-term equipment fixes.
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships to drive benchmark equipment performance.
- Prioritize safety and quality in equipment operation and maintenance.

- Must-have: Willingness to learn Agentic AI tools to improve workflows.
- Nice-to-have: Proficiency in data science and programming to analyze equipment performance.
- Nice-to-have: Strong communication and teamwork skills; experience collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Nice-to-have: Deep understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and diffusion tool behavior.
Education Requirements
BS or Master's degree in an engineering field preferred. The posting also allows equivalent military experience or an AAS with 5+ years of industry experience. (Education-equivalent practical experience is accepted as specified.)
