Job Title

DFT RTL Design Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for architecture, RTL design and implementation of Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Debug (DFD) features for advanced AMD SoC products. Works with global design teams to develop DFT features, tools, and methodologies and to support first-silicon bring-up and qualification.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 7+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key day-to-day responsibilities include design, integration, verification and operational support of DFT/DFD features within complex SoC flows.

  • Architect, design and implement ASIC/SoC DFT and DFD RTL features per architectural and automation specifications.
  • Integrate DFT RTL into design flow: scan insertion, synthesis, equivalency checking, static timing analysis and constraint definition.
  • Verify DFx logic at RTL and gate-level, support ATPG and scan gate-level simulation verification.
  • Develop CAD software, scripts and automation to enable DFT construction in complex SoC designs.
  • Provide pattern debug and DFT feature bring-up support during first-silicon validation, qualification and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams and manage schedules to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for this role.

  • Must-have: Practical experience with DFT methodologies: scan, ATPG, scan compression architectures, scan insertion and related flows.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in Verilog, RTL and gate-level simulation and waveform debugging.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux and scripting (TCL, c-shell, Perl) for EDA flow automation.
  • Must-have: Experience debugging patterns and supporting silicon bring-up and failure analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of JTAG/IEEE standards, SSN, memory BIST/repair, Logic BIST and familiarity with synthesis, equivalency checking and static timing analysis tools/methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Understanding of CPUs, memory and I/O controllers and how they interact with DFT/DFD technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication; proven ability to work in a team and across distributed locations.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. The posting specifies 7+ years of experience.
