Job Title

DFT Engineer, Nitro Team

Role Summary

Join the Annapurna Labs semiconductor engineering team within AWS Utility Computing to design and deliver Design-for-Testability (DFT) solutions for Nitro and related cloud infrastructure chips. The role focuses on DFT strategy, test pattern generation, chip bring-up, and collaboration across design, verification, and test teams.

Work contributes directly to the reliability and manufacturability of high-performance cloud processor platforms.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires at least 4 years of semiconductor industry experience as a DFT engineer.

Responsibilities

The role combines DFT strategy, implementation, and cross-team coordination across the chip development lifecycle.

  • Develop and implement DFT strategies and test architectures for advanced ASIC/SoC platforms.
  • Generate, optimize, and validate ATPG test patterns and scan insertion flows.
  • Support chip bring-up, failure analysis, and lifecycle test management.
  • Collaborate with architecture, logic design, verification, and physical design teams to ensure testability and yield.
  • Contribute to verification activities including gate-level simulation and timing validation related to DFT.
  • Maintain and improve DFT flows, scripts, and tools used across projects.

Requirements

Must-have items are listed first; preferred skills follow.

  • Must-have: 4+ years of experience in a semiconductor company working as a DFT engineer or equivalent role.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with DFT methodologies and test flow integration in chip projects.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog and familiarity with verification methodologies.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with ATPG tools, scan insertion, and related test tool flows.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with gate-level simulation, static timing analysis, and chip bring-up activities.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Perl, Tcl) to automate flows and tool integrations.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative, international engineering teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required (as stated in the posting).
