Job Title

DFT Engineer - Gen Cloud Hardware

Role Summary

Join the Nitro team to develop design-for-test (DFT) strategies and test methodologies for next-generation cloud infrastructure chips. The role requires collaboration with RTL, physical design, and validation teams to improve chip testability and manufacturability for advanced semiconductor platforms.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementing DFT features, enabling automated test flows, and supporting silicon bring-up for cloud hardware.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires about 4+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in DFT, test, or chip validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement DFT architectures and test strategies for SoCs used in cloud infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain test plans, patterns, and flows to support manufacturing test and silicon bring-up.
  • Collaborate with RTL, verification, physical design, and validation teams to integrate DFT features and resolve testability issues.
  • Develop and automate scripts and tools to streamline DFT insertion, pattern generation, and test flow execution.
  • Analyze test data, debug failures, and provide recommendations to improve yield and reliability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a semiconductor company, preferably in DFT, test engineering, or chip validation.
  • Proficiency in Verilog for working with RTL and inserting DFT logic.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Tcl, Perl or similar) to build and maintain test flows and tools.
  • Practical experience collaborating with cross-functional chip design teams (RTL, PD, validation).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ATPG, BIST, boundary-scan, or commercial DFT tool flows.
  • Previous work on cloud or data-center hardware platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Computer Engineering) as stated in the posting.
