DFT Engineer
QualcommJob Title
DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Work on design-for-test (DFT) implementation, ATPG/scan insertion, MBIST, and post-silicon bring-up for ASIC designs. Collaborate with cross-functional hardware and verification teams to define test modes, generate and validate test patterns, and improve yield and testability.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires at least 2+ years of relevant DFT/ATPG experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement and verify DFT features (scan insertion, MBIST, JTAG) for ASIC designs.
- Generate and validate ATPG patterns and simulate test vectors.
- Define test-mode timing constraints and provide corrective timing fixes.
- Perform post-silicon bring-up support and yield analysis.
- Automate flows and develop scripts for DFT and test processes.
- Work with RTL/logic teams to resolve equivalence and lint issues.
- Coordinate with international teams and manage multiple high-priority designs in parallel.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in DFT, ATPG, scan insertion and MBIST.
- Practical experience with ATPG pattern generation and pattern verification; ability to simulate test vectors.
- Experience defining test-mode timing constraints and implementing timing fixes.
- Proficiency in scripting (Perl, shell) for automation and tool integration.
- Familiarity with equivalence check methods and RTL lint tools (e.g., SpyGlass).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with custom RAM design testing, RMA, and advanced post-silicon yield analysis.
- Prior work on JTAG infrastructure or FPGA/DSP test flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. (The posting specifies a bachelor-level degree in these areas.)
