DFT Engineer, Automotive Robotics
Role Summary
As a DFT Engineer on the Automotive Robotics team you will design and deliver core hardware testability modules for multi-die chiplet-based SoCs used in automotive products. You will coordinate DFT strategy and test execution across silicon design, package/OSAT partners, and customers to meet performance, quality, and safety targets.
Remote role based in Munich, Germany.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 10+ years of relevant DFT and test experience. Candidates at various levels may be considered during interview.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define DFx strategy for multi-chiplet SiP from architecture through high-volume automotive production.
- Specify and implement DFT insertion (scan, lock-up latches, clock gates, scan anchors) and on-chip test logic.
- Plan and implement MBIST, LBIST, and IST; verify test logic and sequences.
- Perform ATPG and test coverage analysis using industry-standard tools and deliver coverage reports.
- Coordinate test, yield, and quality activities across design teams, OSATs, and manufacturing partners.
- Translate system and safety requirements into package, DFT, and test constraints; support test engineering with pattern planning and debug.
- Feed lessons learned back into SiP architecture and future DFT/test content decisions.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 10+ years experience in DFT, test, or related ASIC/SiP test roles coordinating across multiple teams or companies.
- Experience with industry-standard ATPG and DFx insertion CAD tools.
- Fluent RTL coding for DFx logic (lock-up latches, clock gating, scan anchors).
- MBIST, LBIST, and IST planning, implementation, and verification experience.
- Experience with JTAG, scan compression, and ASST.
- Knowledge of fault models: stuck-at, transition, gate-exhaustive, path-delay, IDDQ, and cell-aware models.
- Experience with ATPG and test coverage analysis and reporting.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to post-silicon testing, tester pattern debug, and fault campaigns.
- Experience with low-power designs and multiple clock domains.
- Automotive grade production and safety lifecycle experience.
