DFT Engineer, Amazon Leo
AmazonJob Title
DFT Engineer, Amazon Leo
Role Summary
Design and implement design-for-test (DFT) architecture for SoCs used in Amazon LEO satellite communications. Work with ASIC, RFIC, implementation, and test teams to define DFT strategies for modems, high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, and DSP solutions in advanced CMOS nodes.
Deliver DFT solutions (MBIST, clock controls, JTAG) and automation to meet timing, power, and test coverage targets for mixed-signal satellite chips.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early Career - requires 2+ years of experience in advanced DFT techniques for deep sub-micron nodes.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include architecting and integrating DFT solutions and supporting test and bring-up activities.
- Architect and define DFT solutions tailored to LEO SoCs.
- Contribute to IP customization and DFT methodology; adopt AI-enabled automation flows.
- Integrate DFT logic (MBIST, clock controls, JTAG) with ASIC design teams across sites.
- Collaborate with RFIC teams to maximize fault coverage for custom RF blocks.
- Ensure blocks meet DFT, timing, and power targets with implementation teams.
- Translate ATE patterns to tester formats and support test engineering during digital bring-up.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and eligibility.
- 2+ years experience with advanced DFT techniques for deep sub-micron nodes.
- Experience implementing DFT methodology and developing automated scripts for DFT insertion and validation.
- Knowledge of MBIST, clock control strategies, and JTAG controllers.
- Experience working with test engineering and translating ATE patterns to tester formats.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with RFIC and mixed-signal engineering teams.
- Export control eligibility: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card), refugee, or asylee.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to Logic BIST and automotive reliability standards (single-digit DPPM targets).
- Experience developing AI/ML-based automation for DFT implementation workflows.
