Job Title

DFT Design Engineer

Role Summary

Implement and validate Design-for-Test (DFT) methodologies within IPs and SoCs to ensure product testability and manufacturability. Work with cross-functional teams in the Central Engineering Group to integrate DFT blocks and deliver manufacturing test content.

Hybrid role based in Bangalore, India, supporting IP and SoC integration, DFx content creation, and test validation activities.

Experience Level

Entry-level — approximately 0 to 1+ years of experience in basic DFT methodology.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include DFT integration, manufacturing test content creation, tool usage, and scripting for automation:

  • Integrate DFT blocks into functional IP and SoCs and support high-quality integration across teams.
  • Create and deliver manufacturing test content for DFx features, including SCAN, MBIST, and BSCAN.
  • Use EDA tools and waveform viewers to develop, validate, and debug DFT implementations.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (Tcl, Perl, Python) to automate DFT flows and test generation.
  • Collaborate with design and verification teams to follow VLSI design flows and ensure testability requirements are met.

Requirements

Must-have skills and technologies; preferred items noted separately.

  • Must-have: 0–1+ years working with DFT methodologies and a strong understanding of digital design and DFT concepts (JTAG, iJTAG, SCAN, MBIST, BSCAN).
  • Must-have: Proficiency with EDA tools such as Siemens Tessent and waveform viewers.
  • Must-have: Experience scripting with Tcl, Perl, or Python for automation and tooling.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with VLSI design flows and methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to advanced industry DFT approaches and demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.
