Role Overview
The DFT Design Engineer role at Advanced Micro Devices involves working within the Central DFX (CDFX) group. This centralized ASIC design team is focused on optimizing design methodologies and implementing critical Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Debug (DFD) features within advanced computing products, including GPUs and gaming consoles.
Experience Level
This position is suited for candidates with advanced technical expertise in ASIC design, ideally with DFT/DFD experience in the semiconductor industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and apply DFT and DFD architectures in complex SOC ASIC designs.
- Implement automated design flows and deploy DFT features in chip designs.
- Conduct scan ATPG design rule checking and generate associated patterns.
- Collaborate with IP teams to integrate DFT RTL configurations.
- Setup and execute design checks using various tools.
- Develop scripts in Perl and TCL to support DFT solutions.
- Create and manage block-level Design Verification test plans.
- Verify DFT/DFD features at the block and chip level.
- Monitor regression results, debug issues, and analyze coverage data.
Requirements
- Solid experience with Perl/Shell scripting and proficiency in C.
- Knowledge of digital circuits and VLSI.
- Familiarity with the Verilog environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in object-oriented programming (C++ preferred).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous industry experience in DFT is highly desirable.
Education Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
