DFT Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
DFT Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify testability logic for digital ASICs, focusing on scan architecture, ATPG, and memory built-in test/repair. Work with RTL-to-GDS flows and manufacturing/post-silicon teams to ensure DFT coverage and debug silicon test issues.
Experience Level
Entry-level (early career). The posting specifies approximately 2+ years of DFT experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include implementing, verifying, and debugging DFT solutions for complex designs.
- Design and implement scan architecture, JTAG, Memory BIST, and memory repair logic (BIRA/BISR).
- Run and improve ATPG for various fault models and maximize coverage.
- Perform DFT verification using gate-level simulation with timing annotations and resolve simulation failures.
- Debug DRC and ATPG-related issues and improve testability of RTL and netlists.
- Analyze timing constraints in DFT modes and coordinate timing closure activities related to test logic.
- Collaborate with post-silicon and manufacturing teams (ATE) to debug and resolve silicon test issues.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate DFT flows and verification tasks.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with SpyGlass DFT, scan architecture and ATPG tools.
- Experience implementing JTAG, Memory BIST, and memory repair (BIRA/BISR) circuitry using industry tools.
- Experience in DFT verification with gate-level simulations and timing annotations.
- Proven ability to debug ATPG coverage, simulation failures, and DRC issues.
- Good understanding of timing constraints and DFT-mode timing analysis.
- Proficiency in RTL coding and shell scripting.
- Experience working with post-silicon/manufacturing teams and ATE debugging.
Education Requirements
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics or Communication Engineering. The posting specifies 2+ years of DFT experience.
