DFT Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement RTL and verification for mixed-signal and high-speed IP blocks used in cell libraries, functional units, IP blocks, and subsystems for integration into full-chip SoC designs. The role is within Intel's Central Engineering Group supporting product enablement, custom ASICs, and foundry enablement.

Work includes contributing to architecture/microarchitecture, writing RTL, performing simulations and modeling, and supporting verification and customer integration.

Experience Level

Senior — approximately 15 years of hands-on experience in logic design, pre-silicon verification, or DFX.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification support, and customer integration:

• Develop RTL, logic design, and simulation for mixed-signal and high-speed IP.
• Participate in defining architecture and microarchitecture for blocks.
• Model analog behavior and optimize mixed-signal logic to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals.
• Review verification plans and support verification implementation.
• Debug and resolve RTL test failures and implement corrective measures.
• Support SoC customers to ensure quality integration of IP blocks.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• About 15 years of hands-on experience in logic design, pre-silicon verification, or DFX.
• Strong knowledge of SystemVerilog, OVM, UVM and verification methodologies.
• Experience with verification tools such as VCS, DVE, and Verdi.
• Extensive RTL and behavioral modeling coding experience, including SystemVerilog.
• Strong fundamentals in Verilog, assertion coding, and logic simulation.
• Proven problem-solving and debugging skills for simulation failures and formal verification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
