DFT Applications Engineer Staff

Role Summary

The DFT Applications Engineer Staff at Synopsys will work with semiconductor design companies to address their needs for Design for Testability (DFT) solutions. The role involves collaborating closely with Account and R&D teams to develop tailored, scalable tool solutions and delivering impactful training sessions and demonstrations.

Experience Level

Mid-Career, requiring at least 3 years of relevant experience in semiconductor design or related areas.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with semiconductor design companies to understand their methodologies, challenges, and requirements.
• Developing and implementing stable, scalable tool solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Gathering detailed requirements and providing regular updates on solution progress.
• Demonstrating expertise in Design for Testability (DFT) methods.
• Conducting technical demonstrations and training sessions.
• Keeping abreast of industry advancements to ensure best-in-class solutions.
• Contributing to the development of automation and custom scripts for tools.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• Master’s degree (M.Tech or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor design.
• Strong understanding of VLSI and DFT concepts.
• Practical experience with DFT scan insertion.
• Familiarity with semiconductor design tools and scripting languages (TCL, Python, Perl).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree (M.Tech or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
