Device/Yield Engineer Intern - Summer 2027

Role Summary

Support device and yield engineering activities for semiconductor products by performing lab experiments, data collection, analysis, and documentation. Work with cross-functional teams to help improve product performance and yield.

Experience Level

Internship — entry-level. Intended for students currently enrolled in undergraduate or master’s programs; typically 0–2 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

Assist senior engineers on development, testing, and characterization tasks; perform lab work and produce technical deliverables.

• Assist in design, development, and testing of semiconductor devices and solutions.
• Set up and perform experiments; collect and analyze measurement data.
• Perform statistical and root-cause analysis to support yield improvement.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
• Participate in technical reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Learn and apply industry-standard tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in semiconductors, electronics, or embedded systems.
• Basic understanding of digital and/or analog electronics concepts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, C/C++, Java) — preferred.
• Prior experience with laboratory equipment or simulation tools — a plus.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field. Candidates must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term (i.e., not graduating before July 2027). No equivalent-experience alternative was specified.
