Device Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
Role Summary
Summer internship on the Device Engineering team at NXP's Chandler office. Support sustaining, analysis, and improvement of semiconductor products by assisting senior engineers with testing, troubleshooting, experiments, and cross-functional problem solving.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Intended for current students (Bachelor's or Master's); no prior professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist senior engineers with sustaining, analysis, and improvement of semiconductor products and solutions.
- Monitor electrical device operation to ensure conformance to quality standards and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot process, quality, and yield problems; contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Design experiments, collect data, and analyze results.
- Participate in technical reviews and problem-solving discussions with cross-functional teams.
- Learn and apply industry-standard tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support engineering initiatives.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and use industry-standard tools and statistical analysis software.
- Nice-to-have: basic familiarity with analog, logic, power, and/or NVM devices; device physics; statistical process control and software such as Minitab or JMP.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. Interns must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term; candidates graduating prior to July 2027 are typically not eligible for this summer internship. Strong academic record and interest in semiconductors or electronics expected.
