Device Driver Validation Engineer

Role Summary

The Driver Validation Engineer will validate Linux and Chrome device drivers for camera IP, ensuring driver quality, reliability and reproducible test results. The role sits within the Imaging Tools Group and works closely with driver and firmware developers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating and executing validation tests, reporting issues, and collaborating with developers to improve driver quality.

• Translate device driver architecture and application features into comprehensive, repeatable test procedures.
• Execute validation test suites across supported operating systems (Linux, Chrome OS) and new driver stacks.
• Record, track and document defects with clear reproduction steps for developers.
• Collaborate with development teams to design new tests and validation methods.
• Troubleshoot and resolve test failures and validation issues independently.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Experience installing, configuring, and running device drivers and related applications on multiple operating systems.
• Proficiency writing and executing device driver test cases for Linux and Chrome OS.
• Familiarity with scripting for test automation (Python, shell).
• Solid understanding of software testing practices and processes.
• Ability to document issues clearly for reproducibility and track them in reporting systems.

Education Requirements
