Job Title
Device Design Engineer
Role Summary
Develop switching power MOSFETs for 12Vβ80V applications throughout the full product cycle: device architecture, TCAD simulation, process integration, test development and characterization. Collaborate with fab/process engineers and IC driver designers to deliver manufacturable, high-performance devices.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years' experience in power semiconductor device engineering.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include device development, process integration, simulation, and characterization:
- Design and optimize switching power MOSFET device structures for performance and ruggedness.
- Develop and document process flows and layout rules that support manufacturability.
- Plan and run TCAD simulation experiments to identify critical design and process parameters.
- Work with fab and process engineers to develop process recipes and engineering lots.
- Prepare and execute test and product mask layouts with CAE support.
- Define testing and characterization methods; analyze measured data to optimize devices.
- Provide engineering support to maintain yield and product performance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Education requirements are listed below.
- Expertise in one or more: power semiconductor devices, device physics, reliability, semiconductor manufacturing, materials science, TCAD modeling, or device layout.
- Practical understanding of switched-mode power applications, including package and PCB parasitics, thermal implications, and MOSFET driver requirements.
- Proven ability to develop process-aware device designs and translate test results into design/process improvements.
- Experience collaborating with fabrication and IC design teams to deliver manufacturable products.
- Nice-to-have: demonstrated track record of commercially successful power MOSFET developments and experience with advanced switching MOSFET structures.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant field (for example electrical engineering, materials science, or physics) with 7+ years' experience in power semiconductor device engineering.
