Role Summary

Lead a software engineering team that develops debugging, tracing, and performance analysis tools used to design, validate, and optimize data center, HPC, and AI platforms. The role combines technical leadership, delivery management, and stakeholder collaboration within Intel's Data Center Group.

Experience Level

Senior-level - requires 6+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of formal management or technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Manage a team through the full software lifecycle and deliver high-quality developer tools and analysis solutions.

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers and architects; manage hiring, coaching, and performance development.
• Define objectives, plan roadmaps, and ensure predictable execution across complex product release cycles.
• Oversee architecture, implementation, validation, release, and support of debugging, tracing, and performance tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams to capture requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Champion engineering best practices: CI/CD, automation, test coverage, defect management, and release readiness.
• Support enterprise or strategic customer engagements and manage cross-team dependencies.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications.

• 6+ years software engineering experience with at least 3 years in formal management or technical leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience developing debugging tools, compilers, toolchains, runtimes, or performance analysis software.
• Experience contributing to or leading engagement with open-source communities.
• Strong understanding of HPC and AI ecosystems (examples: SYCL, OpenMP, GPU runtimes/drivers, MPI, cluster computing, AI frameworks).
• Solid knowledge of Linux internals and software packaging ecosystems (DEB/RPM).
• Experience with platform development lifecycle, including pre-silicon enablement and early hardware validation.
• Proven ownership of software quality processes, CI/CD, test automation, and release readiness.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers and managing complex cross-functional work.
• Strong English communication skills and demonstrated success in hiring, coaching, and mentoring engineering talent.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with GDB or LLDB architecture and internals, ELF/DWARF debugging standards, stack unwinding, and remote debugging technologies.
• Understanding of GPU debugging concepts (SIMD/SIMT, accelerator debugging APIs) and IDE debugger integrations.
• Experience delivering software across Linux and Windows environments; German language skills are a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
