Development Engineer (m/f/d) - PCB Design

Role Summary

Design and develop optoelectronic components, PCB layouts and related accessories for product development and production at the Vishay Semiconductor site in Heilbronn. The role spans 3D modeling, 2D technical drawings, PCB Gerber generation, prototyping (including 3D printing), and cross-functional technical support.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

• Design optoelectronic components and accessory parts, produce 3D models and technical 2D drawings.
• Perform PCB design work and generate Gerber data.
• Provide technical support to product development, production, marketing and purchasing teams.
• Assess and coordinate technical feasibility with production areas and external suppliers.
• Develop and implement workflows for PCB-substrate-based components.
• Manage document approvals within the development process.
• Create prototypes and functional samples using 3D printing.
• Contribute to product, process and development standard optimizations.

Requirements

• Must-have: Proficiency in CAD systems and PCB design.
• Must-have: Knowledge of assembly and interconnection techniques.
• Must-have: Strong technical understanding and ability to analyze complex issues and produce practical solutions.
• Must-have: German and English language skills, written and spoken (at least C1).
• Must-have: Independent, structured, responsible work style with a hands-on mentality and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Autodesk Inventor (or similar CAD tools).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with 3D-printing prototyping and supplier/production coordination.

Education Requirements

Completed degree (university-level) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
