Design Verification Manager
Role Summary
Lead a team that defines and executes verification strategies for mixed-signal and digital integrated circuits, from block-level verification to silicon validation. Collaborate with system, digital, firmware, analog and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and product quality.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of industry experience in integrated circuit design verification.
Responsibilities
Accountable for planning, executing and reporting verification activities across multiple projects and sites.
- Lead, mentor and manage geographically distributed verification engineers; allocate resources and track deliverables and schedules.
- Define and implement verification strategies, test plans, coverage models and verification environments for block and chip levels.
- Design and oversee complex testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM; manage RTL, gate-level and AMS verification flows.
- Drive coverage closure (functional, code, assertion) and maintain CI/regression frameworks, scoreboards, monitors and checkers.
- Report verification status using quantitative metrics; identify and mitigate verification risks.
- Interface with design, firmware, analog, system and application teams; provide silicon lab and production test support.
- Promote best practices, methodology improvements and evaluation of verification tools and automation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools and leadership capabilities.
- 10+ years of industry experience in integrated circuit design verification.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers and managing verification projects.
- Deep knowledge of digital IC verification for MCU-based hardware systems (ARM, RISC-V, PIC, STM32), memories, custom micro-architecture, peripherals and external IPs.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM; experience with Verilog or VHDL.
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, Perl) and strong debugging capabilities.
- Experience with industry EDA verification tools (Synopsys, Siemens, Cadence).
- Strong analytical, synthesis and problem-solving skills and effective verbal and written communication.
- Nice to have: mixed-signal/AMS verification experience, system-level modeling, familiarity with hardware protocols (I2C, I3C, SPI, MIPI), analog behavioral modeling and consumer or ITA market experience.
Education Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
