Job Title

Design Verification Manager

Role Summary

Lead a team of verification engineers responsible for digital verification of mixed-signal ICs. Own verification strategy, execution, and methodology improvements for projects based in Newbury.

Balance people leadership with hands-on technical support: mentor engineers, define plans with stakeholders, and ensure verification quality and schedule delivery.

Responsibilities

Primary duties of the role include team leadership, verification delivery, and continuous improvement.

  • Coach and develop verification engineers across technical and performance areas.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performance team culture.
  • Lead and mentor the verification team to deliver high-quality IC verification.
  • Work with stakeholders to define verification strategies and plans aligned with product goals.
  • Report verification status, risks, and mitigation plans to engineering leadership.
  • Identify and drive improvements in verification methodology and project execution.
  • Provide hands-on technical support: debugging, methodology choices, and architectural discussions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for immediate success in the role.

  • Proven experience leading verification teams and delivering verification solutions for complex mixed-signal ICs.
  • Strong background in metric-driven verification: planning, requirements extraction, constrained-random verification, and code coverage analysis.
  • Expertise in SystemVerilog, SVA, and testbench design; experience with verification frameworks such as UVM/OVM, e, or VMM.
  • Strong RTL and testbench debugging skills and the ability to interpret results and resolve problems.
  • Hands-on technical capability to support debugging, methodology decisions, and architectural reviews.
  • Creative, lateral-thinking problem solver.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Formal verification and verification qualification techniques.
  • Scripting experience: Python, Ruby, sh/csh, TCL, Make, Perl.
  • Gate-level verification (including SDF).
  • Power-aware verification (CPF/UPF).
  • Object-oriented programming and use of OOP design patterns.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
