Design Verification Intern
Role Summary
Summer internship focused on verification of digital sections of memory data buffer chips used in datacenter and AI applications (DDR5, DDR6 and beyond). The role supports the verification team by developing verification environments, test plans, and coverage using UVM, and executing system- and block-level tests.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship (Summer 2027). Hybrid role based in Duluth, GA with an expected in-office cadence of three days per week.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning, implementing, and executing verification activities for memory-interface products.
- Verify DDR5 data buffer functionality and performance against specifications.
- Develop and maintain verification plans, tests, coverage metrics, and checkers.
- Create efficient, reusable UVM-based testbenches and verification environments.
- Integrate and test at system-level and block-level using UVM methodology.
- Identify and drive process and verification improvements to increase quality and efficiency.
- Monitor and report verification progress and coverage to management.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes for successful performance in the internship.
- Familiarity with at least one hardware description or verification language: Verilog or SystemVerilog; understanding of UVM concepts.
- Ability to integrate and test designs at system and block levels using UVM methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and solid design fundamentals.
- Good written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
- Team player who can also work independently.
Education Requirements
Must be currently enrolled full-time in a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree program and must not have graduated before September 2027. MSEE preferred.
