Design Verification Intern

Role Summary

As a Design Verification Intern on the Cloud Switch / Design Verification team, you will help verify SoC designs used in cloud data center switching products. The role supports functional verification activities including creating testbenches, running simulations, and validating design behavior against specifications and coverage goals.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for current undergraduate or graduate students with relevant coursework or project experience.

Responsibilities

Typical tasks you will perform:

• Use Verilog/SystemVerilog, UVM, and C to develop and run verification scenarios.
• Design, implement, and maintain UVM testbench components, checkers, monitors, and other verification collateral.
• Develop simulation test environments and test cases; run simulations and analyze results against coverage targets.
• Analyze design specifications to build test plans and identify verification gaps.
• Debug failing simulations, collaborate with designers to resolve issues, and improve functional/code coverage.
• Automate data collection and analysis using Python or other scripting languages.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills:

• Practical experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Understanding of digital logic design, finite-state machines, and basic computer architecture concepts.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ and at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Ability to debug simulations, analyze results, and communicate findings to engineers.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with UVM-based verification methodologies.
• Experience with verification tools, coverage analysis, or testbench automation.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field; coursework or project experience with hardware description languages and verification methodologies is expected.
