Design Verification Engineering Intern (Bachelor's)

Role Summary

This internship supports pre-silicon verification of mixed-signal integrated circuits. The intern will work with design and system teams to create verification plans, implement testbenches and simulations, run coverage regressions, and report verification status.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Suitable for current undergraduate students; no professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop detailed verification plans with design and system teams.
  • Implement testbenches, tests, and simulations to validate DUT behavior.
  • Run coverage regressions to meet defined goals for SystemVerilog functional coverage of mixed-signal circuits (voltages, currents, real numbers, integers, and digital coverage).
  • Verify RTL and gate-level (Gates+SDF) timing between analog and digital circuits.
  • Create constrained-random stimulus and auto-checking verification environments, including constrained-random analog stimulus.
  • Use regression tools and develop scripts to submit and manage regression jobs.
  • Track and communicate verification status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in DV strategy, tools, methods, and flows.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications (education summarized separately below):

  • Must-have: basic understanding of digital and analog circuit behavior and verification concepts; familiarity with simulation and verification workflows; effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must-have: ability to learn verification tools and scripting for regression automation; strong time-management and initiative.
  • Preferred: experience or coursework with SystemVerilog, functional coverage, constrained-random verification, RTL/Gates+SDF, or scripting languages used for regression automation.
  • Preferred: strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical & Computer Engineering; cumulative GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher. (The job's generic job-info field also lists "High School Graduate".)
