Design Verification Engineer - Machine Learning Accelerators
Role Summary
Join Reality Labs' silicon verification team to validate machine-learning accelerator IPs and subsystems for AR and smart devices. The role focuses on building verification infrastructure, testbenches, and metrics to ensure first-pass silicon success across pre- and post-silicon stages.

Senior — requires extensive hands-on verification experience; the posting requests 10+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities are verification planning, implementation, and closure for ML accelerator IP and subsystem designs.
- Work with product, architecture, research, and software teams to define verification methodology and requirements for ML IPs.
- Define, track, and lead execution of detailed test plans for modules and top-level designs.
- Implement scalable SystemVerilog testbenches, checkers, reference models, and assertions.
- Drive verification to closure using functional and code coverage metrics.
- Collaborate with design, modeling, emulation, and silicon validation teams for integration and hand-off.
- Support continuous improvement of verification flows, tools, and methodologies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience are listed below; preferred items follow.
Must-have
- 10+ years hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
- 10+ years experience in IP/subsystem or SoC level verification using UVM/OVM.
- Experience with C/C++-based verification environments.
- Experience with assertions, formal methods, and hardware emulation.
- Experience with EDA tools and scripting to build verification flows (Python, TCL, Perl, Shell).
- Track record of first-pass success in ASIC development cycles.
Nice-to-have
- Experience verifying machine-learning accelerators and numerical compute designs.
- Software/hardware co-design experience at firmware, ISA, and application levels.
- Low-power design verification experience.
- Experience with revision control systems (Git, Mercurial) and FPGA/emulation debug.
Education Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is listed as preferred.
