Job Title

Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and execute verification environments and campaigns for automotive connectivity SoCs based on E2B technology. The role focuses on SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, processor-based verification, C DPI integration, coverage-driven validation, and debugging to ensure correctness before tape-out.

Work with design, architecture, firmware, functional safety, and validation teams to drive verification closure for complex mixed-signal and embedded-processor SoCs.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 2–4 years of relevant digital/SoC verification experience as indicated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary verification responsibilities for SoC and subsystem functionality, verification infrastructure, and cross-team coordination.

  • Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments: agents, sequences, monitors, scoreboards, assertions, and functional coverage.
  • Verify SoC and subsystem functionality including processors, memories, interconnects, DMA, interrupts, peripherals, and communication interfaces.
  • Translate requirements into verification plans, test scenarios, and coverage goals.
  • Develop directed and constrained-random tests at block, subsystem, and SoC level.
  • Implement and run processor-based verification scenarios: boot, register access, interrupts, exceptions, and firmware interactions.
  • Integrate C models via DPI and maintain C/SystemVerilog DPI interfaces.
  • Analyze coverage and metrics, identify verification gaps, and add tests to achieve closure.
  • Execute regressions, analyze failures, debug across RTL, testbench, firmware, and models, and report results.
  • Support verification of automotive safety mechanisms, fault-injection tests, and requirements traceability for ISO 26262 activities.
  • Automate regression execution, results analysis, and coverage reporting; produce and maintain verification documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical abilities required to perform the role.

  • SystemVerilog & UVM: Proficiency in developing and maintaining verification environments with UVM.
  • Testbench development: Experience building coverage-driven components and testcases for complex digital designs.
  • Digital/SoC verification: Practical experience verifying blocks, subsystems, or SoCs containing processors, memories, buses, interrupts, or peripherals.
  • C and C DPI: Experience with C programming and integrating C models/functions into SystemVerilog via DPI.
  • Verification techniques: Directed testing, constrained-random, functional and code coverage, and assertion-based verification.
  • RTL understanding: Ability to read and debug Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL.
  • Debugging: Root-cause analysis across testbench, RTL, firmware, and reference models.
  • Scripting & automation: Ability to write scripts in Python, Perl, TCL, shell, or similar to automate verification flows.
  • EDA tools: Experience with simulators, waveform debug, regression drivers, and coverage-analysis tools.
  • Communication interfaces: Working knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART or similar interfaces and their verification considerations.
  • Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork across design, firmware, safety, and validation groups.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with RISC-V or ARM processor-based SoCs and firmware-driven or co-verification flows.
  • Familiarity with automotive connectivity, E2B technology, ISO 26262, fault injection, emulation, FPGA prototyping, mixed-signal verification, or formal/CDC/LV/GL simulation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. The posting indicates approximately 2–4 years of relevant digital design verification experience.
