Job Title

Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) verification enablement team to verify new ARM architecture features and RTL prototypes using in-house random instruction simulators and simulation/FPGA/emulation platforms. You will support internal and external partners across multiple functional units to ensure features meet architectural and functional requirements.

Work focuses on developing and executing verification environments and strategies that uncover corner-case bugs and validate architectural compliance.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 3–6 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with tools, design verification and RTL prototyping teams across geographies.
  • Use in-house RIS tools to create stimulus that uncovers corner-case bugs in partner environments.
  • Develop and enhance verification environments, stimulus generators, and checkers.
  • Verify new ARM architecture features function as specified and do not regress existing functionality.
  • Execute verification strategies in coordination with other verification engineers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of verification methodology based on findings.
  • Support running and debugging workloads on simulation, FPGA or emulation platforms when required.

Requirements

Minimum required skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in IP/SoC product development (3–6 years).
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture concepts (out-of-order execution, caches, memory systems). ARM A-profile experience is a plus.
  • Experience with verification methodologies and testbench development for RTL designs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new verification approaches.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog, C/C++ and assembly (ARM or x86).
  • Familiarity with UVM and industry simulators (VCS, Questa).
  • Experience with scripting (Perl, Python) and test generators/toolkits (e.g. Raven/ACK).
  • Prior verification of micro-architecture for CPUs/GPUs/interconnects and experience with FPGA/silicon bring-up and debugging.

Education Requirements

Good university degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Other science graduates will be considered if they have relevant experience.
