Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join a hardware verification team responsible for validating CPU and SoC designs. The role partners with architects, RTL designers, firmware, and validation teams to create and run verification environments, tests, and coverage analysis to ensure functional correctness.

Responsibilities

Design and execute verification plans and environments to validate RTL and gate-level designs.

  • Collaborate with architecture and RTL designers to define verification scope and goals.
  • Develop and lead test plans, SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, and C/assembly/vector tests.
  • Create checkers, C-based transactors, and random stimulus generators for CPU microarchitecture features.
  • Implement coverage monitors and drive coverage analysis and dashboards.
  • Run and monitor large-scale RTL and gate-level regressions; aggregate and scrub regression data.
  • Debug functional failures using waveform tools (e.g., Verdi) and provide root-cause analysis.
  • Author and review detailed verification plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Core technical skills and domain experience required; listed as must-have and nice-to-have.

  • Must-have: Experience in digital logic design, computer architecture, and CPU microarchitecture verification.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in C++ and Verilog for testbench and test development.
  • Must-have: Experience with assertion-based verification and SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches.
  • Must-have: Hardware debugging and validation skills; experience using waveform debuggers (e.g., Verdi).
  • Must-have: Scripting experience (Python or Perl) for regression data processing and utilities.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience developing random stimulus generators and C-based transactors.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience with large-scale regression infrastructure and coverage dashboarding.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
