Design Verification Engineer
Texas InstrumentsJob Title
Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Verify functionality and performance of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits during the IC design phase. Work within the design group in Oulu to develop simulation testbenches, automated checks, and regression flows, and report verification results to the project team.
Work under the supervision of a senior DV engineer in a cross-functional team; first-year hires participate in TI's Career Accelerator Program for onboarding and technical training.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience requirement specified.
Responsibilities
Core verification duties and collaboration expectations include:
- Develop detailed verification plans with design and system teams to support first-pass silicon success.
- Implement mixed-signal testbenches in Cadence Virtuoso and SystemVerilog to apply stimulus and checks.
- Create automated checks and measurements and populate a Spec Compliance Matrix (SCM).
- Run coverage regressions and meet defined coverage goals.
- Use and develop regression tools and scripts to submit and manage regression cases.
- Track and communicate verification status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in DV strategy, tools, methods, and flows.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure verification issues are closed.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills (education items moved to Education Requirements below):
- Must-have: Experience designing or simulating electronic circuits using SPICE or similar tools.
- Understanding of basic analog circuits: comparators, amplifiers, transistors, and passive components.
- Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Software skills in C/C++/Python or similar languages.
- Knowledge of power management (switching regulators, LDOs) and other analog functions (ADCs, DACs).
- Experience in digital circuit design and creating behavioral models (SystemVerilog, Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS).
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, time-management skills, and the ability to ramp quickly and work across teams.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in the same fields. (No explicit mention of accepted equivalent practical experience.)
