Design Verification Engineer - Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS)
Texas InstrumentsJob Title
Design Verification Engineer - Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS)
Role Summary
Join the Battery Charging Products group to develop and verify mixed-signal battery-management ICs. The role focuses on architecting verification strategies, building mixed-signal testbenches, and delivering products through tape-out in collaboration with analog, digital, and validation teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level (minimum 3 years of hands-on Analog Mixed-Signal verification experience).
Responsibilities
The engineer will define and execute verification for analog-mixed signal designs across the full verification cycle.
- Develop coverage-driven verification plans in collaboration with system, application, and analog design teams.
- Create high-fidelity analog behavioral models using Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, Wreal (RNM), and related languages to enable top-level simulation.
- Build and enhance mixed-signal testbenches combining schematics, behavioral models, and RTL.
- Implement real-time analog checkers and post-processing checkers/assertions to validate functional correctness.
- Execute RTL and gate-level simulations, run regressions, and track functional coverage through tape-out.
- Collaborate with digital verification, analog designers, and post-silicon validation teams to debug issues and ensure product delivery.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience required for the role.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) design verification.
- Proficiency in analog behavioral modelling using SystemVerilog, Verilog-AMS, Verilog-A, or Wreal.
- Direct experience with mixed-signal verification flows that combine schematic, behavioral models, and RTL.
- Strong command of Cadence Virtuoso/AMS Designer toolsets or equivalent mixed-signal simulation/debug environments.
- Clear technical communication skills and ability to present analysis to stakeholders.
- Strong self-organization and time-management skills.
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of UVM and top-level environment frameworks.
- Scripting for automation (Python, Perl, Shell); interest or exposure to AI-driven verification methods.
- Domain experience in signal processing, PMICs, or high-speed interfaces; familiarity with I2C, SPI, UART.
- Experience with silicon debug and working with silicon validation teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
