Job Title

Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work as a verification engineer on an ASIC program, responsible for developing scalable SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and driving verification closure for interconnect and performance-related IP. The role involves hands-on verification, regression and triage, coverage closure, and regular status reporting to the customer.

The position is part of a small, execution-phase team using Amazon-specific tools and flows; documentation may be limited and the role requires adaptability to a startup-style environment within the program.

Experience Level

Senior — experienced verification engineer. Role expects an experienced candidate with substantial ASIC/ SoC verification background.

Responsibilities

Core duties include verification design, debugging, and coordination with the customer and team for delivery and quality.

  • Design and implement scalable SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and verification environments.
  • Verify AXI-based interfaces, interconnect/NOC/crossbar components, and system performance behavior.
  • Drive regression campaigns, triage failures, and lead coverage-closure activities.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and flows (Make, Perl, Python) to support automation and regressions.
  • Collaborate with customer teams; provide regular daily or weekly progress reports.
  • Adapt to and use Amazon tools, flows, and methodologies as required by the program.
  • Work fully onsite at the client office; be available to travel to the office as requested.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for successful performance in the role.

  • Strong SystemVerilog and UVM experience with scalable testbench development.
  • Deep knowledge of AXI protocols and experience verifying interconnect/NOC/crossbar IP and performance verification.
  • Proven experience in regression management, failure triage, and coverage closure.
  • Proficiency with scripting and build tools (Make, Perl, Python) for automation and flows.
  • Effective communicator with experience reporting progress to customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with limited documentation and adapt to evolving processes and tools.
  • Available to start quickly and work on a program that is already in execution.

Education Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. A Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is also referenced as acceptable. The role specifies a minimum of 8 years of ASIC or related verification experience in conjunction with the degree requirement.
