Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join an SoC/IP verification team in Broadcom's ASIC Product Division to develop verification environments and validate subsystem and block-level designs against specifications. The role focuses on RTL/UVM-based verification, debug, and coverage closure for high-performance SoC subsystems.
Base salary range: USD 121,900β195,000 (yearly).
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver verification environments, tests, and debug to ensure design correctness at block and system level.
- Develop verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Design UVM agents, testbench components, and behavioral models.
- Implement coverage models and SystemVerilog assertions.
- Create random and directed test cases from specifications.
- Analyze simulation failures, debug designs, and drive coverage closure.
- Collaborate with design and verification teams to resolve complex trade-offs.
Requirements
Key technical and practical qualifications.
Must-have:
- 8+ years of industry experience in ASIC design verification.
- Experience verifying at block and system level.
- Fluent in RTL verification methodologies and SystemVerilog.
- Strong experience with ASIC verification flows and DV methodologies.
- Proficient with object-oriented verification languages (UVM, OVM) and scripting; experience with C/C++, Perl, and other scripts.
- Strong independent debugging skills and ability to analyze complex verification scenarios.
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with hardware design/debug and SystemC/C++ modeling.
- Experience with emulators and FPGA-based prototyping.
- Familiarity with chip design methodologies and related tools.
- Knowledge of CPU, DDR, bus/network protocols, or DSP design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
