Role Overview

The Design Verification Engineer at AMD is responsible for planning, building, and executing verification processes for both new and existing features in the graphics processor IP. The role demands a meticulous approach to ensure final designs are free of bugs.

Position Summary

The selected individual will engage in deep collaboration with cross-functional teams, including architects, hardware, and firmware engineers, to understand and verify new feature implementations. This role requires a proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills.

Experience Level

This position is suitable for candidates with extensive knowledge in ASIC verification and a solid grasp on debugging of firmware and RTL code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various engineering teams to verify features for AMD's graphics processors.
  • Create comprehensive test plan documentation, addressing interactions across features, hardware, firmware, and software drivers.
  • Estimate time and resources for writing tests and updating test environments.
  • Design and implement directed and random verification tests.
  • Debug test failures in cooperation with RTL and firmware engineers to identify design flaws.
  • Analyze functional and code coverage metrics to meet testing standards.

Requirements

Candidates should possess proficiency in IP level ASIC verification, as well as experience with debugging firmware, RTL code, UVM testbenches, and programming languages such as Verilog, System Verilog, C, and C++. Familiarity with automation workflows, simulation tools, and strong scripting abilities are also expected.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required for this role.
