Design Methodology Manager
Role Summary
Manage and deliver design and verification methodology flows and standards for product lines, working with internal teams and EDA vendors. Lead a technical team to improve design enablement for customers and internal IP users and to support product-line business goals.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires 5+ years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor design or design enablement.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing methodology flows, coordinating with stakeholders, and mentoring engineers.
- Develop and maintain digital implementation and verification flows covering front-end, place & route, EMIR, sign-off and verification phases.
- Define and deliver integration flows, documentation and training for internal design teams and customers.
- Partner with EDA vendors and internal PDK/design teams to develop and validate EDA flows and tool integrations.
- Collaborate with product line management and marketing to capture customer requirements and scope methodology adoption.
- Drive standards across the organization and vendor ecosystem and contribute to IP/technology roadmaps.
- Mentor and train junior engineers; guide development of automation and software features that support design flows.
- Adhere to Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and standard engineering practices (version control, configuration management, regression).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.
- Expertise in methodology design and model verification for CMOS, RF, AMS, silicon photonics and packaging (wafer-to-wafer, die-to-wafer).
- Expert knowledge of industry-standard EDA tools and flows for digital, analog, RF and AMS design.
- Experience driving integration-level requirements, sign-off and verification methodologies.
- Proven experience enabling IP/design teams and delivering methodology solutions (posting indicates 5+ years relevant experience).
- Proficient with Unix environments and able to collaborate with programming and technical design leads.
- Strong verbal and written English communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with version control, configuration management and regression processes.
- Nice-to-have: Java coding experience; interest or coursework in generative AI; project management and organizational skills.
Education Requirements
Requires a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree; the posting specifies B.E./B.Tech plus a minimum of 5+ years relevant industry experience. Preferred qualifications include Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering. The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a listed degree.
