Marvell TechnologyJob Title
Design For Test Intern (MS) - Summer 2027
Role Summary
Intern will join the Compute and Custom Solutions (CCS) Design-for-Test (DFT) team to support DFT architecture, methodology, and design for advanced SoCs. The role provides hands-on experience with DFT insertion, pattern generation, verification flows, and automation tools used in complex chip development.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for graduate students. Intended for current Master's students; no specific years of post-degree professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Work on block- or chip-level DFT flows and contribute to verification and automation efforts.
- Develop understanding of block-level and chip-top DFT and pattern-generation flows for complex SoCs.
- Execute DFT insertion, pattern generation, and verification for Scan, MBIST, Boundary Scan, and IP macro tests.
- Run DFT checks, analyze results, and resolve testability issues to improve coverage.
- Support automation of DFT flows through scripting (Tcl, Python, Shell).
- Contribute to DFT documentation, methodology improvements, and automation efforts.
- Present intern project results to the team at internship conclusion.
Requirements
Minimum technical skills and collaborative attributes expected of the intern.
- Must-have: Practical understanding of digital logic; Verilog/SystemVerilog experience; familiarity with DFT concepts, JTAG, and boundary-scan implementation; scripting experience in Python, Tcl, or Shell; effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge or exposure to Scan test, memory BIST/BISR, functional test methodologies; experience with AI-assisted coding tools; experience improving or automating DFT flows.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Master's degree (MS) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting also notes PhD interns may be eligible for additional compensation.
